New Delhi : Vitamin D deficiency symptoms: When it comes to body development, Vitamin D plays a vital role. A recent study suggests that half of the world’s population suffers from Vitamin D insufficiency. In case of deficiency of this particular micronutrient, the body starts to give signals like weakness, pain in the bones, stress and sluggishness and so on.

Biologically, it is also termed as sunshine vitamin owning to the reason that it can be made in the skin from exposure to sunlight. Therefore, doctors commonly advices to sensible sun exposure on to produce sufficient vitamin D. However, the kind of vitamin breaks down quite quickly and run short of stock, especially in winter.

2). Pain in muscle and weakness in bone: Since Vitamin D helps in absorption of calcium, the deficiency leads to pain in bone, ribs and lower back side. Even a study has found a relationship between a deficiency and chronic lower back pain which limits persons’ daily activities.

3). Feeling tired and fatigue easily: Health experts say that people with low vitamin D feel tired very easily. Their mood swings and suffers from depression almost regularly. The link between vitamin D deficiency and depression, is particularly seen in older adults.

4). High sweating on the head and hands: When there is Vitamin D shortage in the body, a person sweats highly, especially on the head portion. In case of children, excessive sweating occurs in the hand. In such a situation, it is advisable to consult a doctor/health specialist.

5). Hair Loss: The common problem, hair loss may be due to Vitamin D deficiency. Alopecia areata, an autoimmune disease is characterized by severe hair loss from the head and other parts of the body. Low vitamin D levels are linked to the kind of disorder.
