Air India has written to the Delhi police asking why action has not been taken yet on the complaint filed against Shiv Sena MP Ravindra Gaikwad who had assaulted a staffer of the airline last month.

Air India on Friday lifted its ban on Shiv Sena MP Ravindra Gaikwad, whose flight bookings had been cancelled repeatedly after he assaulted an officer of the national carrier last month.

Shiv Sena MP Ravindra Gaikwad tried to defend himself from the criticism of allegedly beating an Air India staffer by slipper. Shiv Sena lawmaker told Parliament that he has remained polite throughout the course to resolve the issue and have also apologised.

"If the flying ban on Gaikwad is not lifted, Shiv Sena will boycott the NDA (National Democratic Alliance) meeting to be held on April 10. I am saying this after discussing it with party chief Uddhav Thackeray," Sanjay Raut said.
