Sachin Tendulkar's security downgraded post security review
New Delhi : Batting legend Sachin Tendulkar's security has been downgraded by the government after a security review, said an official on Wednesday.
The change has been done after a review was undertaken by a Maharashtra government committee on threat perception to them, he added.
The security cover of more than 90 famous personalities has been reviewed by the committee.
Till date Sachin Tendulkar was enjoying the X-Category security, under which a security guard used to be with the cricketer all the time. But, after the downgrade, the security guard will be provided only when Sachin Tendulkar will be stepping out with a prior notice.
Interestingly, Aaditya Thackeray, the son of Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, has been given 'Z' security cover, meaning more personnel will be guarding him now, the official said. Earlier, the 29-year-old MLA from Worli in central Mumbai had Y+ security cover.
