Oscar Pistorius gets five years in jail for killing girlfriend
- South African paralympian, Oscar Pistorius, has been sentenced to five years in jail
- The verdict came after allegations of killing her girlfriend were proved right
- The prosecution had demanded 10-years-in jail for the athlete
- While, defence asked for a house arrest
- Pistorious had accepted that he shot his girlfriend by mistake, fearing that there is some intruder in his house
- Judge Thokozile Masipa issued the ruling in court
- Both Prosecution and the defence have the right to appeal against the verdict
