Bug Bounty Program: Hack Pixel smartphone to get $1.5 million reward from Google

New Delhi : If you are a pro in technology and are able to point out flaws in smartphones, then Google has come up with an opportunity that can give you reward money of $1.5 million.

Announcing in a blog post, the company said, "Today we are expanding the program and increasing the amount to $1 million for a full chain remote code execution exploit with persistence which compromises the Titan M secure element on the Pixel devices."

The Titan M chip that has been installed in the Pixel devices provides security to the most sensitive on-device data and operating systems. The enterprise-grade security chip has been marked as the most secure inbuilt security system.

“This is why we’ve created a dedicated prize to reward researchers for exploits found to circumvent the secure elements protections,” explained Google.

To add to it, Google has also announced a 50% bonus reward attached with it. “Additionally, we will be launching a specific program offering a 50% bonus for exploits found on specific developer preview versions of Android, meaning our top prize is now $1.5 million,” said the company in the blog post.

Google started its bug bounty programme for Android four years back in 2015. In the blog post, the company also revealed that it has awarded over 1,800 reports in the last four years and paid close to $4 million to bug bounty hunters. In the last 12 months, the company has paid over $1.5 million to those that have pointed out vulnerabilities in its systems.
