OnePlus 5, 5T can't play Netflix, Amazon Prime videos in Full HD
New Delhi : With smartphones offering screen resolutions beyond Full HD, many services have also started providing videos in the matching resolutions. Unfortunately, newly launched smartphones - OnePlus 5 and 5T - are unable to play Netflix videos on Full HD for now.
According to a report by The Verge, the limitation is not for just Netflix, but video streaming services like Amazon Prime Video, Google Play Movies and others are also facing compatibility issues on the device.
The issue is likely due to the lack of support for Widevine Level 1 DRM.
While, people shared their disappointment over various forums, the good news is that the company is planning to release an update soon, offering a solution for it.
According to the spokesperson of the company, there are plans for an update that will enable Level 1, although there is no mention of when it will be released.
We hope this update comes soon for the sake of OnePlus customers.
