Delhi : Apple is getting ready to host the WWDC 2023 event next month, when it will reveal the eagerly awaited new iOS 17 software, which will include a feature that turns iPhone lock screens into smart displays. In the most recent round of leaks, Mark Gurman said that the tech giant is preparing a new user interface (UI) for iOS 17 that would provide information like weather updates, calendar appointments, and other notifications on the lock screen in a manner akin to a smart-home display.

According to those acquainted with the situation, the view would appear while the device is locked and positioned in landscape mode, similar to the displays provided by Amazon and Google. The goal is to improve iPhone use while it is supported by a table or stand.

The move, according to the article, is an effort to integrate more live information into the operating systems of Apple products. This includes the brand-new watchOS 10 for Apple Watch as well. The improvements are among the plethora of changes that will make their appearance in the next update, code-named Dawn. The software will probably be unveiled during the June 5–7 Worldwide Developers Conference 2023, where Apple may also present the mixed-reality headset.

In 2019, the upgraded user interface will resemble Android OS's "more basic" UI. Additionally, Amazon's tablets provide a competitive alternative. Bright lettering placed on a dark backdrop will make it easier to read on an iPhone. The function will enhance the widgets' current ability to display news, weather, and other information in the portrait lock screen mode on iOS 16.

IT behemoth is also working hard to give iPad devices a "horizontal interface" in Cupertino, California. However, the plans will advance more slowly than iOS. According to Gurman, Apple is also looking on ways to turn its products into "smart-home" screens. Included in this is a "low-cost tablet" that may be equipped with magnets. It may be used to handle FaceTime calls, broadcast video, control lighting, and other things.
