New Delhi : The USA has reported its first death related to monkeypox; the infected adult was living in Harris County. The authorities have advised people to take proper medication and precautions if they are diagnosed with any symptoms related to the disease.

As of Monday, the CDC has confirmed more than 18,000 cases of monkeypox across all 50 states. Meanwhile, a total of 15 deaths have been reported worldwide from monkeypox so far.

What should be done if monkeypox infects you?

According to many researchers, monkeypox has symptoms like fever, cold and the body gets rashes mostly water-filled blisters. If any of this happens then the infected person should immediately isolate and avoid coming in contact with other people. The person should come out only when the blisters are completely healed with a new layer of skin.

How monkeypox spreads?

Monkeypox can spread if someone comes in contact with the infected person.

Global Scenario

The World Health Organization (WHO) has said that the global cases of monkeypox have shown a downfall and around 20 per cent less cases have been reported globally. Most people recover from monkeypox within a time frame of a week.
