Los Angeles : In a shocking video that became viral in an instant, a dirt biker was seen jumping over a California freeway on Tuesday.

The video posted to Instagram shows an enthusiast Kyle Katsandris, 24 who jumping the busy 60 Freeway in Riverside County after building a ramp out of dirt with a team of supporters.

The California Department of Transportation have identified the location where the video was recorded. To prevent any further such instances the transportation officials in California have blocked off a makeshift ramp that was used by the dirt biker in the viral video.

CalTrans spokeswoman Terri Kasinga told media, "We want to impress upon people that this was a dangerous stunt and somebody could have lost their life on that highway. This could have turned into a tragic situation and we hope never to see this again."

They also said that investigations into the incident have been opened, however, it is unlikely that anyone will be prosecuted due to the driver's face being obscured by a helmet.

The video was posted on the Instagram account of Kyle Katsandris, a 24-year-old motocross enthusiast from San Clemente, and quickly became an Internet sensation viewed more than 90,000 times.

The video showed the jump from 5 camera angles, including an aerial shot that law enforcement officials said was likely filmed with a drone.
