Cadbury shows solving racism with chocolate bar, mocked on social media

New Delhi : Cadbury Dairy Milk recently launched a new chocolate bar that tries to blend in different shades of chocolate.

The company has released a brand-new Unity bar which combines four different types of chocolate - dark, blended, milk and white.

Currently, the product is sold only in India, where it was released on Independence Day celebrating diversity.

However, people here are not very impressed with the idea and have been mocking the brand mercilessly on the social media.

Many have cheekily thanked the Birmingham-based company for 'solving racism', with the same joke being made over and over again.

One person said: "If only at some point in the last 72 years, someone had thought to launch a four-in-one chocolate bar, all of india's religious, cultural, caste and linguistic issues would have gone away."

Another wrote: "I ate a Cadbury unity bar and POOF! Racism gone!"

A third proclaimed: "It's ok racism is over everyone as Cadbury has brought out a UNITY bar."

"Damn, they solved racism," added a fourth user.

Watching the negative reactions flooding social media, a Cadbury spokesperson said, "Cadbury has always been a progressive brand that spreads the message of goodness, whether it is through its products or brand campaigns.

"Our intention was to tell the tale of 'unity in diversity' through the limited edition Cadbury Unity bar launched in India to mark the country's 73rd Independence Day.

"We appreciate your feedback and have passed this onto our team in India."
