Delhi : Tesla is currently under investigation in the US for allegedly inflating the possible driving range of its electric vehicles. According to the Wall Street Journal, authorities are investigating into Tesla's performance claims after it was revealed in July of this year that the automaker frequently falls short of its claimed range.

Tesla created algorithms roughly ten years ago that portray the inflated driving range to Tesla electric car users via the in-dash display. However, the range is actually far smaller than what was advertised. According to the claim, Tesla even organized a "Diversion Team" to reschedule the range-related servicing appointments.

Tesla sent out the crew as a result of a constant influx of calls from owners who expected their individual electric cars to have a longer range based on the automaker's claimed predictions and the projections shown on the in-dash display. According to reports, the service centers were overrun with appointments. According to reports, Tesla sought to hide this by rescheduling the appointments.

This is the most recent investigation into Tesla, which has already been the target of numerous other inquiries relating to its well-known Autopilot driving assistance system, which is accused of being at fault for numerous accidents and providing incorrect guidance to the cars. Tesla's Autopilot system has been criticized for failing to function effectively when it was supposed to in a number of instances, leading to deadly collisions and even human deaths. As a result, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), a federal agency of the US government, launched investigations into those collisions to determine the cause of the collisions and if the Autopilot technology was at fault.
