Despite getting a start every movie hopes, 'Kalank' failed to keep up with it and its business on Box Office dropped insanely from the second day of its release. With a humongous cast and mixed reviews, the film managed to gather a decent figure but it was around 40% less than what was expected before its release.

This happens to be the highest opener for Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt too. Earlier, Varun Dhawan's biggest opener was Dilwale with 21 crores and Alia Bhatt’s was Gully Boy which had earned Rs 19.41 crores on first day.

Some other people connected it to Shah Rukh Khan and Karan Johar's friendship saying that “Karan Johar is a true friend. He made #Kalank so everyone would forget about Zero.”

In the video, Varun is seen fiddling with her hair bun, irritated with his action, she tries to scold him, but then makes a cute mistake. “Ran...! Uh, Varun don’t,” she says, confusing his name with her boyfriend and actor Ranbir Kapoor’s.

The much-awaited trailer for the upcoming movie Kalank has been released by the makers. The film features Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, Aditya Roy Kapur, Sonakshi Sinha, Madhuri Dixit and Sanjay Dutt in the lead roles.

The film is set in 1945, in Pre-Independence era and it narrates a tale of eternal love. The powerful dialogues and intense theme grace the short clip to perfection.

The teaser gives a glimpse of all the lead characters in the movie. It features Alia Bhatt as the royal Roop and Varun Dhawan as the handsome blacksmith Zafar, Madhuri Dixit as Bahaar Begum, Sanjay Dutt as Balraj Choudhary; Sonakshi Sinha and Aditya Roy Kapur seems to be a couple.
