Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi praised Rahul Gandhi for taking responsibility of the sad performance the party did in recently concluded Lok Sabha Polls. She also showed respect saying that only a few have the courage to do what he has done.

Punjab Congress chief Sunil Jakhar has resigned from his post after he lost the Lok Sabha Election 2019 from Gurdaspur to Bharatiya Janata Party's candidate Sunny Deol. He sent his resignation from the post to the party president Rahul Gandhi.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday moved the Election Commission of India seeking a 5-day ban on actor turned politician Kamal Haasan over his controversial ‘Hindu extremism’ remark. As per reports, BJP leader Ashwini Upadhyay has approached the poll body complaining against Haasan.

Addressing election rallied in Himachal Pradesh, BJP President Amit Shah on Sunday said that his party will scrap the Article 370, which gives a special status to Jammu and Kashmir, if they are voted back in power.

Election Commission officials in Delhi announced the poll percentage on Tuesday evening. They informed that polling percentage was minimum at Anantnag seat in Jammu and Kashmir; the seat saw only 13.61 per cent voter turnout.

The seat from Srinagar in Jammu and Kashmir recorded lowest turnout of only 14.8%. Except Maharashtra, the poll percentage in rest of the states was more than 60% while in Puducherry it was 80.47.

PDP President Mehbooba Mufti on Wednesday hoped that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will initiate peace talks with Pakistan if he gets elected for the second term after Lok Sabha Polls 2019.
