France : There is a term called 'period poverty' which is referred to the girls who are unable to afford the hygienic products during their menstrual days; to combat the same, France has made menstrual products free of cost for students in the nation.

Making the announcement, French Higher Education Minister Frederique Vidal said that machines containing free tampons, sanitary towels and other period products would be installed in student residences and university health services in the coming weeks.

This comes days after President Emmanuel Macron promised to end the 'period poverty' in the nation.

Prior to France, Scotland had become the first nation in the world to make products required during periods completely free for all.

Apart from this, free period products in England are available in all primary and secondary schools — a move New Zealand said last week it too would implement.
